Director H Vinoth has finally broken his silence on the Jana Nayagan problems that have kept Vijay’s politically charged final film stuck with the censor board for over five months. Despite multiple postponements and even Vijay’s elevation to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the film remains unreleased.
Director’s Cryptic Warning
During a recent public interaction, H Vinoth addressed the Jana Nayagan release crisis in carefully measured words that hint at deeper complications.
“It’s not in our hands.. I don’t have the courage to speak about the truths related to the film.. Even if I have the courage to speak about them, you people don’t have the courage to telecast it.. So, we’ll see when it releases”
His reluctance to speak openly suggests issues beyond standard certification delays.
Five-Month Censor Stalemate
Jana Nayagan was scheduled for January 9, 2026 release but was postponed due to censor board objections. Since then, the film has faced multiple setbacks including leaks and business losses while awaiting clearance.
When Vijay became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, industry observers expected the censor hurdles to be resolved quickly. Shockingly, the film did not receive certification even after that major political shift.
June 19 Release Looks Doubtful
Fans initially hoped June 19 would mark the new release date, but that window now appears impossible. With the director unable to speak openly about the “truths” behind the delay, Jana Nayagan’s theatrical future remains uncertain.
